Singapore-bound flight leaves over 70 injured, 1 dead

On Tuesday, a Singapore Airlines flight made an emergency landing in Bangkok due to turbulence on board the aircraft, which was flying from London to Singapore. The Boeing 777 had 211 passengers and 18 crew members on board.
The airline reported the death of one person in a statement, also conveying condolences to the deceased's family.

The number of people injured due to turbulence during the Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore has exceeded 70 people, according to AFP, citing the hospital in Bangkok where the injured passengers were taken.
The agency reports that a total of 71 people were sent for hospital treatment, and six of them were seriously injured.
In a video published by Bangkok airport, a cavalcade of ambulances can be seen heading towards the aircraft. "Our priority is to provide all possible assistance to all passengers and crew," Singapore Airlines stated.
According to data from the FlightRadar24 portal, the aircraft descended from 37,000 feet (over 11 km) to 31,000 feet (about 9.5 km) within three minutes, according to the AP news agency. For almost 10 minutes, the aircraft remained at this altitude before descending sharply again. Less than half an hour later, the aircraft landed in Bangkok.
