On Wednesday (February 7) morning, Russia directed a sizeable rocket assault against Ukraine. Aircraft using manoeuvring missiles struck, among other places, Kyiv. "Following the enemy attack, rocket fragments damaged two high voltage lines in the capital. Some residents on the left bank are currently without power," commented Vitali Klitschko, the city's Mayor. Rescue activities persist in the Dnieper district.

During the attack, one of the missiles approached Poland's border. "A maneuvering missile in the Lviv region is moving closer to Poland's border," the Ukrainian Air Forces stated. "The missile, originally heading for Poland's border, has altered course and is now headed for the region's center," confirmed Maksym Kozytsky, the Lviv Regional Military Administration's head.

Russians attacked with the assistance of Tu-94 bombers. They fired several missile groups. Besides Kyiv, explosions were reported in Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, and Drohobych. A countrywide alert due to the missile strike is currently in effect.
