As the St. Petersburg website Fontanka reported, Moiseyev's appointment has already been "conveyed to the staff."

"Admiral Nikolai Yevmenov is still listed on the Ministry of Defence's website as the chief commander, but the admiralty is clear: he will not return to his post," it was written.

Similar information was also reported by the pro-government newspaper "Izvestia".

The information about Yevmenov's resignation was confirmed by retired Admiral Vladimir Komoyedov, the former commander of the Black Sea Fleet, in a conversation with Ura.ru.

- Yes, this is reliable information. I know about this. I think it will be announced later, said the military man.
The Ministry of Defence has not officially announced the change of command of the Navy.

Yevmenov has been the commander of the Russian Navy since May 2019. Following the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Yevmenov was sanctioned by the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and other countries.

Recently, Ukrainians have been conducting attacks on the Russian fleet using the Magura V5 surface drones. As a result of these actions, the Russians lost three ships of the Black Sea Fleet in a matter of weeks.
