Los Angeles is ablaze. Fires are raging across the Hollywood Hills, and the internet is inundated with images of an orange sky. Though it looks like a social media filter, it reminds us of nature's destructive power. People are losing homes they have lived in for generations, forced to leave everything behind.

At least 24 people have died in the fires, with many others injured. Authorities are seeking someone to hold accountable, conspiracy theories are spreading, and the first lawsuits are being filed. Meanwhile, celebrities are getting involved to help those affected by the fire. Taylor Swift has donated generously to 10 organisations battling the disaster and is encouraging others to offer similar support. Billie Eilish and Lady Gaga, along with other stars, will perform at a charity concert, while Selena Gomez has rolled up her sleeves to volunteer her help.

Selena Gomez and her fiancé Benny Blanco have stepped up to actively assist those impacted by the fires. The couple has taken on the task of distributing food to rescuers and first responders.

The celebrity shared a video on Thursday, January 16th, showing her wearing a mask and handing out sandwiches to firefighters and police officers. "Grateful for these individuals," she captioned the video, which included a brief shot of the rescuers.
