Are your dishes wet after you take them out of the dishwasher? If you, too, are struggling with this annoying issue, we have good news. You can apply a simple trick that works on most dishwasher models.

Water remaining on glasses, plates, or other dishware items taken out of the dishwasher can be bothersome for several reasons. Firstly, when you remove dishes from the top racks, you douse the ones placed below with water. This means that instead of saving time using the dishwasher, you spend extra time drying dishes. Moreover, when taking wet dishes out of the dishwasher, you can splash your clothing and kitchen cabinets or floors. The spilled water is indeed clean, but it still needs to be wiped off. As a result, you might end up adding to your workload by using the dishwasher. With the described issue, you can manage by emptying the lower sections of the dishwasher first. But there is an even better way to handle it.

Simple solution for wet dishes from the dishwasher

The problem of water settling on dishes in the dishwasher can be resolved very simply. There is a method that can be applied in almost every dishwasher model. How does it work? First, you need to check if your dishwasher is equipped with additional wheels located on the sides of the upper rack. You should not have a problem finding them since they are not connected to any guide.

Upon confirming that your dishwasher has additional wheels that allow for the adjustment of the upper rack’s height, empty it. Then, fully extend the upper rack, gently lift its front part upwards to release the front wheel. Once you succeed, keep pulling the rack out until the rear wheel reaches the end of the rail - then lift the rack again and release it.

After releasing the first two wheels from the guide, start pushing the upper rack back in. Now, you need to place the upper wheels, which you identified at the beginning, back on the guide. Once you manage that, make sure that the drawer is stably seated on the guide. Check this by moving it sideways, up, and down. If the whole procedure was conducted correctly, you can now arrange dishes on the rack without worrying about them being wet after removing from the dishwasher.
