The main ingredient is, of course, peanut butter. Whether you prefer creamy or crunchy, peanut butter is commonly associated with sweet dishes. In satay sauce, typically served with chicken skewers, it combines beautifully with tangy citrus and bold spices.

How to choose good peanut butter?

Be wary of products containing less than 70% peanuts and unnecessary additives such as hydrogenated fats, salt, or sugar. In this case, a shorter ingredient list is preferable.

Satay sauce recipe for chicken

Richly flavoured peanut sauce is a perfect complement to chicken marinated in a blend of soy sauce and lime juice.

Ingredients:

  • 240 ml coconut milk,
  • 5 tablespoons peanut butter,
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice,
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar,
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce,
  • 1 teaspoon cumin,
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground coriander,
  • 1/4 teaspoon chilli.

Preparation:

  1. Heat the coconut milk and add the sugar.
  2. Next, add the peanut butter, followed by lime juice and soy sauce.
  3. Stir and maintain on medium heat until the mixture thickens.
  4. Add the spices at the end and mix well.
