Samsung smartphones are among the most frequently chosen mobile devices in the world. The Korean manufacturer's devices stand out with their excellent AMOLED screens, which offer vivid colours and deep blacks, making them unique in the market.

Users also appreciate the advanced cameras, which allow for high-quality photos even in challenging lighting conditions. However, not everyone knows that Samsung Galaxy models have a hidden menu with additional functions in the photo gallery.

The Samsung Gallery Labs menu is available in the Galaxy Z, Galaxy S, Galaxy A, and Galaxy M series models. This menu enables the use of additional features that can be helpful for those taking photos and videos. For instance, one can enable video previews on thumbnails (Video preview on picture list), view additional photo metadata (Show EXIF in details), and even save files in PDF format (Save as PDF).

For those who value privacy, the Album Entry Locks feature is worth noting. This feature allows users to lock access to selected photos in the gallery using a PIN or fingerprint.

How to activate Samsung Gallery Labs?

The Samsung Gallery Labs menu is disabled by default, and few people know its existence. However, there is a way to unlock it. Simply open the Gallery, tap the icon with three lines, and select the Settings menu.

Then, in the "Gallery—information" tab, tap the version number several times until a message about unlocking the Gallery Labs feature appears. A new tab will appear at the very bottom of the Gallery settings.
