Russians panic as surprise Ukrainian attack shakes Kursk region
Vyacheslav Zarutski, a YouTuber from Russia, claims that Russians are only now reacting to the Ukrainian attack in the Kursk region as if they didn't believe it really happened. "Everyone is asking why the Ukrainians did it," admits Zarutski. He adds that people have started to panic.

In his latest video, Vyacheslav Zarutski commented on the recent events in the Kursk region and revealed how the Russians reacted to the Ukrainian attack.
According to Zarutski, comments about the situation have only just now started appearing online, including on Russian-language channels on YouTube.
The authorities said we waited three days and everything would be fine, but this is the third week – notes the YouTuber.
Russians are not hiding their astonishment. Interestingly, they are surprised not only by the sluggishness of the Russian authorities but also by the very fact that the Ukrainians decided to attack. "And why did they attack us? What did we do?" wonder the Russians, according to Zarutski. They are also disappointed that the military was not able to protect them.
Zarutski asked his family and friends what they thought about the war entering Russian territory. Panic has begun in the country, and the people who supported Putin are divided "half and half."
Some say that something has changed, something has happened, (...) but we need to keep fighting, we need more soldiers. The Ministry of Defence made a mistake, but we will find those responsible (...) and we will keep fighting – explains Zarutski.
These Russians still believe in victory. However, the second group, according to the YouTuber, believes that the state cannot do anything anymore and doubts the sincerity of the authorities.
Ukrainians attacked the Kursk region. What do Russians say?
One of Zarutski's friends, who lived near the Kursk region, sold his flat after the Ukrainian attack because - as the YouTuber convinces - "he really believed that Ukrainians would attack the city of Kursk." Previously, the man supported Putin's actions and didn't believe Ukrainians would attack his area. However, he changed his mind.
Another friend of the YouTuber posted an ad saying he wanted to sell his flat. He made this decision because he lives in a high-rise building in Tatarstan and is scared that a drone could strike his block in the future.
Speaking of Russian reactions, the YouTuber referred to events from a few hours ago, when Ukrainians attacked Saratov and Engels, from where bombers that drop missiles on Ukrainian cities take off. Zarutski indicates that Russian authorities are trying to downplay the problem and are claiming that "drones were shot down and only a part accidentally hit buildings in Saratov."
In Zarutski's view, Russians are no longer certain if Putin can protect them. "Everyone is waiting, as it is very likely there will be another mobilization for the army," explains the YouTuber.
