The recording, published by a channel associated with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, lasts almost a minute. The drone is conducting a reconnaissance flight of about 55 km/h (34 mph) at around 57 metres (187 feet). After about 16 seconds, the drone operator turns the camera to the right and spots two Russian attack fighters heading in its direction.
The aircraft nearly hit the drone
Two seconds later, one of the aircraft flies just beside the unmanned aerial vehicle. The drone drops more than 18 metres (60 feet) in a second. The operator managed to control the machine and tracked the further flight of the Russian pair of fighters.
"The Russian Su-25 pilot was potentially very close to losing the aircraft due to a collision with his drone. History knows cases when aeroplanes fell due to birds getting into the engines. Unfortunately, the drone was just a few inches short," - we read on the channel "Operational News of the Armed Forces of Ukraine".
