Russian missile strike on Poltava injures 22, leaves thousands powerless

On 17th June, the Russians struck civilian infrastructure in the Poltava region. Twenty-two people were injured, including three children. The missiles also hit a power line, leaving thousands of residents without electricity.

Regional authorities reported that as a result of the Russian missile attack on Poltava conducted on Monday, twenty-two people were injured. Among the wounded are three children. Eight adults and one of the injured children were taken to the hospital, according to a statement from the head of Poltava regional authorities, Filip Pronin.

According to local authorities, the target of the Russian attack was civilian infrastructure. Preliminary information indicated that the aggressor's army used an air-launched Kh-59 cruise missile.

Authorities reported that "due to an enemy strike, power lines were damaged in Poltava district. 53,000 household and 2,400 legal consumers are without power".

The Ukrainian Pravda portal reports that residential buildings, a kindergarten building, and other facilities were damaged.
