"Hydroelectric and combined heat and power plants in the central and western parts of the country were damaged in the night raids," reported Ukrenerho on the Telegram channel.
The night missile and drone attack from Thursday to Friday lasted 9 hours. Cities targeted included Dnipro, Kamianske, Pavlohrad, Kremenchuk, Ivano-Frankivsk, specific settled areas of the Dnipropetrovsk region, and particular facilities of the Lviv region.
Attacks were also made against the Ukrainian energy infrastructure, targeting the country's energy complex.
The company added that emergency power cut-offs were implemented in the Dnipropetrovsk region, located in the southeast of the country.
During the night, the head of the region, Serhij Lysak, reported that Russian forces attacked infrastructure facilities in the city of Kamianske early on Friday morning, resulting in at least one person being injured.
The largest private energy producer in Ukraine, DTEK, reported that three of its combined heat and power plants were among Russia's targets.
The equipment was seriously damaged. Once the attack ended, engineers immediately began repair work, the company conveyed on social media.
The Reuters agency reminded the agency that prior Russian attacks had already caused significant damage to Ukrainian energy infrastructure, forcing Kyiv to halt energy exports and rely on imports.
