This is not good news for our eastern neighbours. Experts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) note that Russian troops are accelerating offensive actions in Ukraine. In this way, they "minimise potential increases in human and equipment losses".

The head of Ukrainian military intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, in an interview with German television ARD, stated that Ukraine expects an increase in Russia's offensive activity towards the end of spring and at the beginning of summer. Meanwhile, Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, expressed the opinion that Russia's main offensive might start at the end of May or in June.

Meanwhile, the ISW has already noticed an intensification of offensive actions by the Russian forces. This has been observed, among other things, through the enhanced mechanised attack towards the town of Chasiv Yar. In this way, the Russian military effectively minimises the likelihood of increased human and military equipment losses.

Russians take the initiative on the battlefield

Volodymyr Zelensky and high-ranking Ukrainian military officials have recently delivered worrying information. It suggests that delays in support for Ukraine have caused the defending nation to lose initiative on the battlefield. Consequently, the Ukrainian armed forces cannot plan an effective counteroffensive or defence if they are unsure when and what type of aid they will receive.

The ISW emphasises that delivery delays force the Ukrainian defence forces to make difficult decisions regarding defence priorities at the expense of planning future counteroffensive operations.

Meanwhile, in the USA, the debate about further assistance for Ukraine continues.

Russia's new invention

Recently, Russia has presented its latest technological development. It's a tracked drone. The terrifying equipment is intended for remote mine laying on the battlefield. Responding to the presentation of this new solution, Ukraine published a video of its drone attacking this "innovative" weapon of the adversary.
