Russia, China, and Iran set for third joint military exercise, sparking concerns in the West
Russia is determined to fortify its alliances in any way necessary. China quietly supports Vladimir Putin's regime. The new Chinese defence minister recently expressed in his inaugural speech that China will persist in supporting Russia.
In the meantime, Moscow has spent years fostering relations with Iran. Putin purchases weapons and drones from the Middle East, which quickly land on the frontlines in Ukraine. Both countries initiated the construction of a self-detonating drone factory last year.
In a welcome development for Putin, Iran has given its consent. On 19 March, Russia, China, and Iran will execute joint naval military exercises. This is a situation the West should be wary of.
As claimed by the continually active Anton Heraschenko on platform X (Twitter), all three countries have recently announced additional military manoeuvres.
Iran, Russia, and China are set to conduct joint naval exercises over the coming weeks, as reported by Iranian media on Monday. This statement references the Iranian navy commander, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani - as we gather from Heraschenko's post.
This is yet another round of naval manoeuvres by these three countries. Similar exercises were conducted before this in 2019 and 2022. In the previous year, Iran, Russia, and China executed joint exercises in the Arabian Sea under the "Maritime Safety Belt" title.
Rear Admiral Irani underscored that the purpose of the exercises is to maintain the "stability of international maritime trade, to counteract piracy and maritime terrorism. The exercises also aim to "ensure regional security in the common interest", - as reported by the Russian Interfax."
NATO countries will be closely monitoring the ambitions of these three provocative nations. Given that Russians are currently combatting Ukraine and issuing threats towards Europe, Iran is causing instability in the Middle East, and the Chinese are eyeing Taiwan for acquisition, the prospect of a global conflict is not a mere fantasy today.
