During the programme "Vesti Nedeli", which is aired by the state channel Rossiya 1, the General Director of the Rossiya Segodnya media group divulged that he had dispatched a request to the White House for an interview with US President Joe Biden.
In his correspondence to press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, which is published on the X platform (formerly Twitter) by the NEXTA agency, Russian propagandist Dmitry Kiselyov articulates, "We believe that our countries are currently lacking an opportunity for mutual listening and comprehension, and we believe that Russian President Vladimir Putin set a commendable example by consenting to an interview directed at the American public opinion."
Kiselyov professes his intent to perpetuate the path undertaken by Tucker Carlson, who conducted an interview with Putin. This was the first dialogue with the Russian leader since the Ukraine invasion.
"Optimal option" for the White House
Kiselyov suggests that Joe Biden should agree to participate in the proposed dialogue. He emphasises that conducting an interview with a Russian journalist would serve as the "optimal and highly effective option for the White House". Concurrently, he announces that the conversation will be interpreted into several languages and disseminated not merely in Russia, but internationally—via an array of platforms and on social media.
