Riding with art: the exclusive journey of a custom-painted Lamborghini and Ducati
Blending art with motorisation isn't easy, but it's far from impossible, as BMW demonstrated some time ago with its Art Car series. This latest project involves a car and a motorcycle which have gone into private ownership. The journey began with a Lamborghini Huracán EVO which in 2021 was adorned with Paolo Troilo's painting "Minotauro". Troilo is celebrated for his singular technique of hyper-realistic finger painting; there truly is no other like it.
Following that was the unveiling of the Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini, the second motorcycle born of the alliance between these two Italian marques, coming after the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini. This high-octane naked bike is a limited edition piece with a production run of 693 units, just 63 of which are set aside for Lamborghini car owners.
One astute customer decided to make his Ducati even more distinctive, intending it to match his existing vehicle. So, he approached Paolo Troilo with a commission to custom-paint his bike. The outcome was the "Centauro", with the Streetfighter V4 serving as the literal "canvas".
This unique project was unveiled at the "Art of Creating Myths" event, an exclusive gathering of 200 Ducati and Lamborghini guests graced by the presence of both companies' chief executives: Claudio Domenicali and Stephan Winkelmann. The proud owner of these two vehicles now basks in the enjoyment of not just owning two unmatched machines, but two pieces of art.
