Cleaning the toilet is among the most crucial household tasks. Bacteria constantly multiply in the bowl, and a significant portion poses a serious health risk. It's recommended that the toilet be cleaned daily.

While you can opt for ready-made cleaning products, home cleaning solutions are gaining popularity. But there's another method, one our grandparents used. You likely already have this product at home. Just toss it into the toilet right before going to bed.

Daily toilet cleaning is necessary. Choose natural cleaning agents

The toilet is the most contaminated zone in the home. When microbiologists investigated what accumulates in the toilet bowl, they found harmful bacteria, including salmonella and E. coli. Becoming infected with these bacteria can lead to serious health issues.

How can you effectively clean the toilet and eliminate bacteria? Although ready-made cleaning products, available in gel or liquid form, are an option, most contain chlorine, which kills bacteria and bleaches the surface. However, chlorine has a strong odour and is environmentally unfriendly.

An increasing number of people are turning to home cleaning solutions. They're inexpensive, effective, and simple to concoct. Ingredients like baking soda, vinegar, or citric acid are utilized for disinfecting, bleaching, and cleansing properties. You can whip up a homemade toilet cleaner or toss it directly into the bowl, ideally overnight, to tackle bacteria, limescale, and unsightly stains.

Toss into the toilet. Say goodbye to all the impurities

Garlic, a vegetable known since ancient times, was highly regarded for its health benefits and considered a natural antibiotic. This is thanks to allicin, a compound with bactericidal effects. It may seem odd, but garlic can disinfect the toilet.

This trick was a favourite of our grandmothers. Before heading to bed, they would toss a few cloves into the toilet and leave them overnight. In the morning, flush. Garlic gradually releases allicin, cleaning the bowl and eliminating bacteria. It's a straightforward, efficient, and green way to clean the toilet.
