Saturday's Champions League final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund (2-0) was memorable for Toni Kroos, who played in the "Whites" jersey for the last time. His club teammate spoke highly of the German midfielder.

On Saturday, June 1, the Champions League final was played in London. Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund competed in the European Cup. No goals were scored in the first half. Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Junior scored for the "Whites" in the second half. Thus, the team from Madrid ultimately won 2-0.

Saturday’s match was exceptional for two players from both teams. Toni Kroos and Marco Reus said goodbye to club football. The German internationals stood on opposite sides of the field, so only one could celebrate the title.

Toni Kroos won the Champions League with Real Madrid. The midfielder joined the "Whites" in 2014 and won the Competition five times. He had already announced that he would retire after this season. Only the European Championship is ahead of him.

He is a person who has left his legend here, his mark. We, as youngsters, try to learn as much from him as possible, like with Modric. Thank you for all that you have given and taught us on a day-to-day basis, for that competitiveness. - said Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde.

A decade of Kroos playing for Real Madrid

Toni Kroos has been a Real Madrid player since the 2014/15 season when he transferred from Bayern Munich. He crowned his career with triumphs in La Liga, the Champions League, and the Spanish Super Cup.

Now, the 34-year-old can start preparing for the upcoming European Championship, which will be held in his country. After this event, Kroos will definitively hang up his boots.

This wonderful season will be my last and if you put two and two together, you know that if I am leaving Real Madrid, then I am also leaving football - Toni Kroos confessed recently.
