Questions arise over Navalny's death amid discrepancies in timing and lack of surveillance

The official account states that Navalny started to feel unwell after his morning walk on 16th February, and almost immediately lost consciousness. Although an ambulance was allegedly dispatched straightaway, attempts to resuscitate him proved unsuccessful.

The Meduza Portal, citing numerous Russian sources, including Baza, Mash, and WCzk-OGPU channels, states that Navalny began feeling unwell around 9:00 UK time. Doctors pronounced him dead at 10:17 UK time.

Inconsistencies in the official account

Navalny himself once stated that walks in the prison were allocated for early in the morning, continuously implying that the time when he was reported to have felt unwell would typically be when meals were being served.

The Gulag.net Project highlights the chronology of these events. They note that death was pronounced at 10:17 UK time, and merely two minutes later, the official prison services report was published. Just another minute later, at 10:20 UK time, government-affiliated media TASS and RIA Novosti reported Navalny's death. At 10:23 UK time, unofficial sources mentioned that a detached blood clot was the cause of death. The first comment from the Kremlin's spokesperson was released just 13 minutes following Navalny's death.

Statements from the prison

Meduza Portal quotes from Nowaja Gazeta. Jewropa contacted one of the inmates. According to this prisoner's account, the disturbance in the colony started on Thursday evening. News about Navalny's death commenced circulating around 6:00 UK time on Friday. At this point, no ambulance sirens were audible. Only after the fact that Navalny was dead became known were ambulances reportedly seen.

In addition, the Gulag.net Project reported that on 16th February, certain cameras within the colony stopped working, citing documents they had acquired. An unofficial source claimed that officers from the Federal Security Service (FSB), akin to Putin's political police, had arrived at the penal colony two days earlier.
