Queen Camilla's health struggles delay royal commitments
Queen Camilla is still facing health issues. Due to a severe respiratory infection, which she had been battling for almost a month, she was unable to support her husband, King Charles III, during the reception of an official delegation from Qatar in the United Kingdom.
At the beginning of November, Buckingham Palace stated Queen Camilla's health. According to the statement, the wife of King Charles III was struggling with a respiratory infection.
"Her Majesty The Queen is currently unwell with a chest infection, for which her doctors have advised a short period of rest," Buckingham Palace conveyed in a statement published by the Daily Mail.
"With great regret, Her Majesty has therefore had to withdraw from her engagements for this week, but she very much hopes to be recovered in time to attend this weekend's Remembrance events as normal," the statement read.
Queen Camilla is not in the best shape
Although almost a month has passed since the statement was issued, Queen Camilla has not yet returned to her royal duties. According to the latest information from "People" magazine, she is experiencing lingering effects from the severe respiratory infection. For this reason, on 3rd December, she did not take part in the reception at Buckingham Palace for the delegation: The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and his wife, Her Excellency Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani.
As reported by "People," following her battle with the infection, Queen Camilla is said to have "limited energy reserves." However, she plans to join King Charles III, Prince William, Princess Kate, and the delegation from Qatar for lunch inside Buckingham Palace. During their two-day visit to the United Kingdom, she will meet with them to take a commemorative photograph and bid them farewell.
Queen Camilla must return to her duties
A month-long break from royal duties is quite a lengthy period of absence for Queen Camilla. Given that her diary is packed, the queen must slowly return to her responsibilities. It has been confirmed that on 4th December, she will participate in the British-French Entente Litteraire awards for young writers, an event that will also be attended by the First Lady of France, Brigitte Macron.
