Russian historian comments on Putin's mother
Yuri Felshtinsky, a Russian historian, recently joined Robert Mazurek on the Morning Conversation on RMF FM. Felshtinsky was asked to predict when the Ukraine crisis might end. He suggested that peace could be established within a fortnight if NATO supplied equipment, including Moscow-targeting missiles.
Felshtinsky postulated that if the war doesn't conclude soon, it likely never will, as Russia is prepared for perpetual conflict. In response, Mazurek pointed out that Putin, like everyone else, won't live forever, opening up questions about a post-Putin Russia.
You know, I've come across a book that speculates about Putin. There's a theory - which I believe has merit - suggesting that Putin's real mother lived in Georgia all these years. It's believed that Putin was born in Georgia and abandoned by his mother. That's not really the point though. What's important is that she lived to be one hundred years old. Thus, I wouldn't bet on Putin being in bad health and not living a long life - revealed Felshtinsky.
Vera Putin, who Felshtinsky referenced, was born in 1926 in the village of Terechino in the Perm Region. In September 1950, she gave birth to a son, Vladimir, who she affectionately called Vova. She later moved to Tashkent, where she met and moved in with her future husband, who was Georgian, in Metekhi near Gori. It seemed that Vera's husband couldn't accept her son. Vladimir was to be moved to Tbilisi, and then to Vera's parents. Eventually, without her consent, he was sent to distant relatives in Leningrad.
Official documentation states that the Russian president is the son of Vladimir Spiridonovich Putin and Maria Ivanovna Shelomova. Both passed away before Putin assumed the presidency in 2000. However, there are claims that lend credence to Vera's story. She believes her son became lost and is now the Russian president. Vera posits that the biological father of Putin is a mechanic named Platon Privalov, and that the "official" parents of the president adopted him from her. Vera passed away in May 2023, having lived nearly 97 years.
