Puff pastry pumpkins: A spooktacular Halloween snack

They resemble small pumpkins, and hidden beneath the crispy dough is a delicious filling of minced meat, cheddar cheese, and various spices. They perfectly complement the Halloween atmosphere, and preparing them is quite simple. They are a must-have for your party.
Puff pastry for Halloween
Puff pastry is a versatile ingredient for many culinary experiments as it can be filled with both sweet and savoury flavours. Using cookie cutters, you can shape it into unusual forms. In this recipe, they are pumpkins, one of the symbols of autumn and Halloween.

Beneath the crispy puff pastry hides a filling of minced meat with tomato sauce and cheddar cheese. This simple combination will delight all your guests. Pumpkin snacks taste good both hot and cold.
Ingredients:
- 200g minced chicken or turkey,
- 1 egg,
- ¼ yellow bell pepper,
- ¼ green bell pepper,
- ¼ onion,
- ½ teaspoon dried garlic,
- 1 teaspoon sweet paprika,
- ½ teaspoon curry powder,
- ¾ teaspoon salt,
- ½ teaspoon pepper,
- 2 packs of puff pastry,
- 14 teaspoons tomato sauce,
- 70g cheddar cheese,
- 1 egg yolk + 2 tablespoons milk.
Preparation method:
Step 1. Place the minced meat in a bowl. Add finely diced yellow and green bell peppers, crack in an egg, add chopped onion, dried garlic, sweet paprika, curry powder, pepper, and salt. Mix everything thoroughly and transfer to a pastry bag.
Step 2. Unroll the puff pastry on the countertop and use a cookie cutter to cut out pumpkin shapes.
Step 3. On each pumpkin, place a portion of tomato sauce and squeeze out some of the meat mixture. Place a piece of cheddar cheese on top. In the other pumpkin, cut out eyes, a nose, and a mouth, then cover the filling with it, pressing the edges.
Step 4. Place the prepared pumpkins on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush them with the egg yolk mixed with milk and place in an oven preheated to 200°C (400°F). Bake for about 20 minutes.
Step 5. Serve the ready snacks with your favourite sauce. Enjoy!
