"Outer Range" on Prime Video is an intriguing mix of Western and sci-fi. It's as if the world of "Yellowstone" merged with events from another realm. In the production, rancher Royal Abbott (brilliantly portrayed by Josh Brolin, as always) battles the ambitions of another hostile clan for lands that have been in his family for generations. One day, he discovers... a dark abyss on his property. Last autumn, it was announced that "Outer Range" would have a second season, and the sad news came two months after its premiere.
The series certainly wasn’t as big a hit as "Fallout" or "The Boys," which are currently triumphant on the platform, but it still performed exceptionally well. According to Hollywood Reporter, according to Nielsen rankings, the first season spent five weeks on the platform's top productions list, and the second spent three weeks. The second instalment of "Outer Range" was partly produced by Brad Pitt. Unofficial information circulating online suggests that the decision to cancel the series was driven by complex numbers—the production costs were too high.
Josh Brolin: other roles
The actor has worked with Ridley Scott, the Coen brothers, Robert Rodriguez, Gus Van Sant, and Woody Allen. He debuted in 1985 as the older brother in the family adventure film "The Goonies", directed by Richard Donner and written by Steven Spielberg. His notable films include "American Gangster," "No Country for Old Men," "Sicario," and the "Avengers" series (as Thanos). He also appeared in both parts of "Dune." Recently, we reported that he joined the cast of the third instalment of the "Knives Out" series.
He was married to actress Diane Lane ("Capote vs. the Society").
