On Friday, April 19, nearly 6,000 young people from 98 Italian cities arrived at the Vatican for a meeting with the Pope. The visit was part of the National Network of Schools of Peace project.
"I ask you to be protagonists of inclusion; in a world torn by global crises, I ask you to be builders of the future, so that our common home may become a place of fraternity," the Pope said.
He then highlighted that today, more than ever, it is necessary to live responsibly, broaden horizons, look forward, and sow, day by day, the seeds of peace, which may bloom tomorrow and bear fruit.
"This is a dream that requires being awake and not asleep, not lying on the couch."
Francis added that action is necessary to ensure "a world that is safer, more peaceful, more just, more equal, more inclusive, more sustainable, and more prosperous."
