Polish and Allied Forces Respond to Russian Missile Strikes on Ukraine

In response to a massive attack by Russia on Ukraine, Polish and allied air forces have been activated. "It may be associated with the occurrence of an elevated noise level, especially in the southeastern area of the country," warned the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces in a statement.

The Russians attacked Ukraine on Sunday morning. The majority of missiles launched from 14 Tu-95 strategic bombers were aimed at the Lviv region.

Attack on the Lviv region: communication from the Polish command

In connection with the massive attack, the Operational Command issued a statement.

"The Operational Command of the Armed Forces observes tonight intensive long-range aviation activity of the Russian Federation, related to air-missile strikes on objects located in Ukrainian territory," it reads.

As added, all necessary procedures aimed at ensuring the safety of Polish airspace have been initiated, and the Operational Command constantly monitors the situation.

In the statement at 5:20 AM GMT, the Operational Command reported that one of the missiles of the Russian Federation violated Polish airspace. "The object entered Polish airspace at the altitude of the town of Oserdów and remained there for approx. 39 seconds," it was written.
