Podolski's kebabs: German star gifts Euro 2024 heroes a tasty treat

Owning his chain of kebab shops in Germany, Lukas Podolski gave them to the Slovenian football players who advanced to the knockout stage of Euro 2024. This is due to his teammate from Górnik Zabrze, Erik Janza, being part of the Slovenian squad.

Lukas Podolski's football career is rapidly approaching its end. Football is not his primary source of income currently, as he left playing in Turkey and Japan just to represent the colours of the Ekstraklasa team.

The German footballer, born in Poland, boasts a fortune worth nearly £170 million. This is partly due to his investments, including his own chain of kebab shops that currently operates only in Germany.

Thus, Podolski has reasons to be happy that Euro 2024 is taking place in his homeland. This will certainly positively impact his profits, as one of the outlets is situated in Berlin, where the European Championship matches are being held.

On Tuesday (25th June), the Slovenian national team, featuring Górnik captain Erik Janza, secured advancement to the knockout stage of the Euros. For this reason, Podolski decided to send his kebabs to the Slovenians right after their match with England (0-0).

"Thank you [Lukas Podolski] for after match refuel," reads a post from the official account of the Slovenian Football Association, accompanied by a photo of "Poldi's" kebab.
