Pistachio coffee sensation: The ultimate summer treat at home
The pistachio fad remains robust, which comes as no surprise. After pastries, ice cream, and tiramisu, the trend now extends to a delectable iced coffee. In this rendition, it surpasses any café’s version.

When the thermometer outside shows high temperatures, refreshing drinks come into their own. Instead of traditional coffee, I choose its iced variant, which also doubles as a delightful dessert alternative. Cafés offer numerous flavours and combinations, but this iced pistachio coffee, made at home, undoubtedly occupies the top spot. I am yet to discover a better recipe for a tasty refreshment.
Iced pistachio coffee
The very sight of the glass incites an immediate desire to drink it. This can be attributed to the pistachio cream, which adorns the glass and imparts a unique flavour. When I served it to my guests, they were thrilled. Nowadays, every visit to my place begins with "May I have a pistachio coffee?".
The coffee base is espresso, a small yet highly concentrated brew. It allows me to regulate the flavour of the iced coffee. I can brew it stronger or add more when I need a caffeine lift, or make it weaker when I reach for a drink later in the afternoon. In all its versions, it tastes simply marvellous.
Ingredients:
- 4 tablespoons of pistachio cream,
- 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream,
- 40 millilitres of espresso,
- crushed pistachios,
- 1 piece of milk chocolate.
Preparation:
Step 1. Spread the pistachio cream along the edges of the glass. This is what imparts my coffee with its distinctive flavour and pistachio essence. It’s easiest to spread it with the convex side of a spoon.
Step 2. Place two scoops of vanilla ice cream in the glass and mash them with a spoon. Create a well in the ice cream and pour the brewed coffee into it.
Step 3. Lastly, garnish the coffee with crushed pistachios and add a piece of chocolate. The cold, delicious, and sweet iced pistachio coffee is now ready. Enjoy!
