The spokesperson for Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov, has stated that the fate of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is "sealed". Kyiv is waiting for American support, struggling with Russian pressure.

Many reports from Russian media or government representatives are elements of propaganda. These reports are part of the information war conducted by the Russian Federation.

"The fate of Zelensky is definitely sealed," said the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov in an interview preview published by journalist Pavel Zarubin for the programme "Moscow. Kremlin. Putin".

Peskov hits at Zelensky again

This is not the first time Peskov has mentioned that Zelensky's situation is challenging. In October 2023, he argued that the Ukrainian president "is starting to bore everyone in America and Europe," and people are beginning to doubt the advisability of transferring money to Kyiv.

In January 2024, Peskov described Zelensky's position as "very difficult" because "there are no missiles for him abroad," and "in Ukraine, there is unrest, with many dissatisfied people."

Russians have repeatedly criticized Kyiv for refusing to talk. Zelensky, for his part, has presented a peace formula, but Putin deemed the requirements (including restoring the borders from 1991 and providing security guarantees) too high.

Ukraine waits for support

As estimated by the Institute for the Study of War, Russian forces will gain a significant tactical advantage in the coming weeks, possibly thanks to their numerical superiority in personnel and equipment, which will allow pressure to be exerted.

Ukraine is currently waiting for American aid, which has already been approved across the Atlantic. The support is intended to help Ukrainian forces to resolve current logistical issues and halt the Russian offensive.
