Nissan launches cherry and burnt tyre perfume for Shanghai Formula E
Nissan made an unusual promotional move before the Formula E race in Shanghai. Have you ever wanted to smell like a combination of cherries and burnt tyres? Now you finally have the chance.
Perfumes created by car brands are nothing new. Brands like Bugatti, Jaguar, Bentley, and Lamborghini have their offerings, and their popularity is not limited to car enthusiasts. Just walk to any chemist and see logos you usually associate with cars on the shelves.
Nissan also has its own line of perfumes, but they have probably never been as talked about as they are now. Nismo, the sports division of the Japanese brand, decided to prepare a very original product for the upcoming E-Prix Shanghai Formula E race. And no, this is not an April Fool's joke.
Nissan's latest offering in the perfume category is "Smell My Dust," a unique blend that is supposed to combine strong aromas of blooming cherry, rosemary, and tyre smoke. The Japanese also emphasize the woody notes of burnt sugar.
It’s worth repeating—this is not a joke. Nismo and the British division of Nissan are promoting the product on social media, and Nissan Formula E Team drivers Oliver Rowland and Sacha Fenestraz are lending their image to it.
How do you even achieve such a combination? According to "Top Gear," the manufacturer used fragments of tyres worn out during Formula E rounds to create it. So you can be sure of the authenticity of the ethereal sensations enclosed in the vial.
If you want to find out what a combination of cherries and burnt rubber smells like, unfortunately, you will have to do it alone for now. According to Nissan, "Smell My Dust" will not be available for sale at this time, at least not in our part of the world. However, things are different in China — you can get this unique scent during the Formula E weekend in Shanghai.
