In Iran in the morning, explosions echoed in the air. Reports indicate air defence systems were activated to intercept several drones, likely focusing on the Isfahan area, where military complexes and nuclear facilities are located. The army reported no damage.
Concurrently, reports of explosions in other countries emerged. In Syria, two southern provinces experienced explosions.
According to Suwayda24, in the As-Suwayda governorate, the radar systems of the Syrian army were targeted. Locals reported three explosions, followed by a squadron of fighters flying overhead. The military reportedly suffered "material losses".
Significant explosions were reported near the Al-Thaala military airport, although it remains unconfirmed whether this site was directly bombed.
Another alleged attack occurred in the neighbouring province of Daraa. The target was a military facility near the city of Izra.
The extent of the damage Syria suffered due to this attack remains uncertain. Israel has yet to confirm its involvement in these actions.
Explosions in Iraq
In Iraq, explosions were heard in the Babylon province and the Baghdad area. In Irbil and Mosul, fighter jets were reportedly heard.
Further, a correspondent from the Lebanese television channel Al-Majadin (associated with Iran) reported that drones were seen flying over Baghdad and Kirkuk during the night.
The exact nature and cause of these incidents are still unclear.
