Neymar mocks Vinicius Junior as 'ugliest': Social media erupts

Neymar can only provide moral support to Brazil's national team during the Copa America 2024. While visiting his teammates, the injured footballer participated in an interview that posed blunt questions. One of these asked Neymar to name the ugliest player he has played with.

Neymar was straightforward and identified Vinicius Junior, one of the stars of the previous club season, as the ugliest player. The Brazilian national team player was instrumental in helping Real Madrid secure the Spanish Championship and the Champions League, among other honours.

I have been around a lot of not very good-looking players. With all respect, but I would choose Vinicius Junior. Sorry, I love you, but this is so funny. Ugly but you’re funny," said Neymar.

The Brazilian set social media ablaze. His comment about his national teammate has yet to elicit a response. Vinicius Junior will probably bide his time for the right moment to respond to this playful teasing.

The injured Neymar flew to the United States to meet with the Brazilian national team players. The Canarinhos began their Copa America campaign and underperformed in their first match, managing only a 0-0 draw with Costa Rica despite being favourites. Their overwhelming possession did not translate into a single goal.

Neymar remains Brazil’s most recognisable footballer even when sidelined due to injury. He commands the most significant interest from both fans and journalists.

During the last match, a TV camera captured Neymar in the stands, displaying a meaningful gesture of dissatisfaction when Brazil's coach substituted Vinicius Junior.
