Aphids appear unexpectedly and spread rapidly. They attack flowering plants as well as fruits and vegetables, quickly ruining the results of hard work. Although they are small in size, they can cause serious damage: they weaken plants, inhibit their growth, and can even lead to their death.
Unfortunately, getting rid of these uninvited guests is quite a challenge. Chemical agents are not always effective and can be quite expensive.
The alternative is home remedies to get rid of aphids from the garden. One of them is to prepare a vinegar spray. This - as reported by "Super Express" - will eliminate pests in 10 minutes. How can you prepare a home spray for a few pounds?
Home spray for aphids
Vinegar may repel with its smell, but it is a popular and inexpensive ally during household cleaning as well as in the fight against aphids. However, it needs to be used skillfully.
To prepare a home vinegar spray, it should be diluted with water in the right proportions: for 1 litre of water, add approximately 100 millilitres of vinegar. After thoroughly mixing the solution, pour it into a spray bottle. And it's ready!
With this prepared spray, you should generously spray the plants that have been attacked by aphids. To increase the effect, you can add a little grey soap, grated on a grater, or a few drops of washing-up liquid to the solution.
Another home remedy for aphids is a natural spray based on garlic and hot pepper. These ingredients have strong insecticidal properties and can help get rid of aphids within a few seconds, although preparing the spray requires patience.
You need a few cloves of garlic, a tablespoon of hot pepper, and 1 litre of warm water. Crush the garlic through a press and add the pepper. Pour water over the mixture, and then let it sit for about 6 hours. The next step is to strain the preparation and dilute it with water in the appropriate proportion - 1 cup (approximately 250 millilitres) of the solution to 10 litres of water. The flowers should be sprayed every two days.
