The mayor of Kneževi Vinogradi, Vedran Kramarić, explained that the decision to use drones was made after consultations with experts. They decided on several innovative solutions and included drones for the first time. Initial results show that they are on the right track.

The use of drones to combat mosquitoes cost the municipality £1,700. Despite the cost, this method has so far shown 100 percent effectiveness. The authorities of Osijek and the surrounding areas also plan to use drones to combat mosquitoes. A record £1.6 million will be allocated for this purpose.

The deputy mayor of Osijek, Dragan Vulin, explained that drones will be used during larvicidal treatments. During larvicidal treatments, they will use drones significantly, which is the most significant difference from last year. Their undeniable advantage is their ability to operate in hard-to-reach areas.

The authorities also plan to open a special Mosquito Control Centre in the county located in eastern Croatia. The centre will be equipped with the latest insect control technologies.
