Morning brews: Enhance your coffee with healthy add‑ins
Coffee is one of the favourite drinks worldwide. Besides boosting energy, it can also help with several other things. Adding this ingredient to your morning coffee can accelerate the fat-burning process.
Many people cannot imagine a morning without coffee—to the extent that they treat it as their "first breakfast." Although it was once claimed to be harmful to health, this is far from the truth. Coffee, thanks to caffeine, not only helps to boost energy levels; it is rich in antioxidants, potassium, and B vitamins, showing strong antioxidative potential. It can also help protect against atherosclerosis, stroke, and heart attack.
Add a pinch to your coffee
Increasing energy levels is not everything. We can safely add other ingredients to coffee that will enhance its effects. However, we are not talking about milk, which is commonly added to this drink. If you are interested in stabilising blood sugar and speeding up fat burning, add cinnamon to it.
Cinnamon has thermogenic properties that support fat burning. The same applies to coconut oil and clarified butter, which can also increase the rate of calorie burning. This is due to MCT fats, which are converted into energy.
Coffee with "liquid gold"
If you want your coffee to keep you feeling full longer and be less acidic, you can add olive oil, otherwise known as "liquid gold." Just half a teaspoon of olive oil in your coffee can improve metabolism, reduce inflammation, and relieve constipation. However, it must be that the coffee does not contain other ingredients such as sugar, cream, or milk.
It is also worth remembering when you should drink coffee. It seems the best time is not an hour after getting out of bed. This is related to cortisol, which is highest up to 45 minutes after waking up. Therefore, you should consume coffee two hours after waking up. Otherwise, you may not experience its stimulating effect.
