Molotov cocktails hurled at Russian embassy in Vilnius amid tension
From Sunday to Monday night, there was a double attack on the Russian embassy building in Vilnius. The assailants, who remain unidentified, launched Molotov cocktails at the structure. The Lithuanian prosecutor's office has initiated an investigation into the incident.

Lithuania's public broadcaster, LRT, reported that at around 1:15 AM GMT, an unknown individual targeted the Russian embassy in Vilnius with a Molotov cocktail. Approximately 30 minutes later, a second bottle was hurled at the embassy.
Attack on the Russian embassy
Lithuanian security officials have confirmed the occurrence of the incident but have yet to identify those responsible. Fortunately, there were no injuries; however, the building's wall sustained damage. The investigation, supervised by the local prosecutor's office, focuses on property damage.
"The extent of the damage is currently being evaluated," stated Ramunas Matonis from the Police Department to LRT on Monday.
Julia Samorokowskaja, a spokesperson for the Main Police Commissariat of the Vilnius District, mentioned in a discussion with the ELTA agency that the possibility of enhancing security around the Russian embassy is under consideration.
Lithuania stands as one of Ukraine's staunchest allies in its defense against the Russian invasion for more than two years. Following the war's outbreak, the city council resolved to rename the street hosting the Russian embassy in Vilnius to Ukraine Heroes Street.
