Michael Jordan has once again decided to donate money to an important cause. The legendary basketball player financially supported the third clinic established in North Carolina to assist people without health insurance. The American gave a speech during the official ceremony and could not hold back tears of emotion.

Michael Jordan has already retired from basketball. However, he became a sports icon due to his performances in the world's best league, the American NBA. With the Chicago Bulls, he became a six-time league champion and individually received five awards for best player of the regular season.

The grand career enabled the American to earn a fortune. After all, he amassed close to £72 million from the sport alone. Jordan shows, however, that he knows how to spend money on noble causes.

As reported by People.com, the legendary basketball player supported the construction of the third Novant Health Michael Jordan Family Medical Clinic. The facility was established in North Carolina and is available to residents with insufficient health insurance or none.

Jordan contributed £8 million to fund the clinic. Its grand opening took place on Friday (May 10) at around 5 PM GMT, during which the 61-year-old made a speech.

- That’s what this clinic is about. When the families are not able to support, we’re there to support. If you don’t have any money, that doesn’t matter. We’re going to do whatever we can to support you because that’s what happened to me, that’s where I got it from. We’re bringing a new clinic to serve what’s been typically an underserved community to provide primary care, preventive care, screenings, those types of things, and we’re really excited about it, it’s going to be a tremendous community resource - said the emotional legendary basketball player, who even shed tears.

Thus, this is the third hospital into which Jordan invested his money. The first was established in 2019, and the second a year later. According to media reports, Americans had invested a total of £5.6 million then.
