The British royal family is a unique institution. Although the king and princes wield little influence over the country's politics or economy and are partially funded by taxes, they still enjoy immense popularity among their "subjects." Of course, not everyone is equally liked.
The actor met Queen Camilla behind the scenes
Queen Camilla did not have the best reputation for many years because she was Charles's lover while he was still married to the beloved Diana. Ultimately, Camilla became the prince's wife and, over time, the queen. She is now often in the spotlight during various events and ceremonies.
The royals' PR team continuously works to improve the queen's image, but what is the queen like? Henry Winkler, an actor known from the series Happy Days, recently shed some light on this. In an interview with People, he shared his experience meeting the queen during the horse races at Ascot.
Queen Camilla in private
Interestingly, Camilla first expressed a desire to meet the actor. When the behind-the-scenes rumour reached Winkler, he prepared to meet the queen. She surprised him with her demeanour and behaviour.
The actor recounted that she entered completely in white and approached him.
Contrary to his fears, Camilla did not exude a royal aura. Quite the opposite.
I tip my hat, and I talk to her like she was my Aunt Liz, he recalls. There is no disconnect. There’s no royalty. There is just this lovely woman who knows about my children’s books, the Detective Duck series.
Did you expect Queen Camilla to be so relaxed?
