Such a "quadruped" has never existed before. In the United States, an autonomous robo-dog equipped with a flamethrower has entered the market. It costs £8,000, and anyone can purchase it.

The robotic "dog" from an American company comes with a flamethrower and is completely legal in most US states. It controls vegetation and pests, ecological maintenance, and clears snow and ice.

The dog, named Thermonator, is priced at £8,000.

This machine is a variant of the Go1 robotic dog by the Chinese firm Unitree Robotics. It bears resemblance to Spot, the robot introduced by Boston Dynamics nearly a decade ago.

A flamethrower is mounted on its back, which, as the manufacturers claim, can reach approximately 10 metres and is equipped with a fuel tank that can be filled with either petrol or a diesel blend.

The monitor features obstacle avoidance technology and a laser sight and can operate autonomously or be controlled via Bluetooth.

This "pet" has quickly become popular on social media, recommended for its reliable expertise in removing snow and ice from driveways.

This adds to a series of inventive American robotic dogs. In the past, a robot with a sniper rifle was unveiled, and last year, a robot equipped with a rocket launcher made headlines. Experts note that scenarios from science-fiction films are becoming reality.

The launch of Thermonator is stirring much debate. It will be sold in 48 US states where flamethrowers are not classified as weapons.
