Mbappe sparks Real Madrid frenzy with €18m mansion purchase
Since Kylian Mbappe announced his departure from PSG, almost all sports journalists worldwide know he will join Real Madrid. Although the French star has not confirmed these speculations, according to Iberian Peninsula media, he has already prepared for life in the Spanish capital. The 25-year-old bought a residence there worth over £14 million.
On 10 May, Kylian Mbappe announced on his social media that he would not extend his expiring contract with PSG and would bid farewell to Paris at the end of the season. Leading French and Spanish media are already convinced that the 25-year-old striker has "settled" with Real Madrid, and the club is merely waiting for the right moment to announce this move.
There is a lot of excitement on the Iberian Peninsula due to media reports that Mbappe has purchased a residence in the luxurious Madrid district of La Moraleja. This information was provided, among other things, by the newspaper "La Razon." According to its journalists, the star finalised the transaction on Tuesday, and one of the factors influencing his choice was, among other things, the favourable location. The estate is only about 15 minutes from Real Madrid's training facilities.
La Moraleja is a district chosen by Madrid's wealthiest residents. Spanish media reports that Mbappe's neighbours include legendary Real Madrid centre-back Sergio Ramos and famous Hollywood actor Richard Gere. David Beckham also lived there in the past.
Media from the Iberian Peninsula estimate that Mbappe paid around €18 million (over £14 million) for his new residence. It is not yet known when the Frenchman will permanently move into his new home, but considering the property's price, one can assume he will enjoy true luxury there.
Mbappe has been with PSG since the 2017/2018 season. During this time, he won, among other things, six French championships and three national cups with the club. However, he never triumphed in the Champions League. The closest he came was in the 2019/2020 season, but PSG ultimately lost to Bayern Munich 0-1 in the final. And Real Madrid, where Mbappe is most likely to play, has repeatedly shown that it has a knack for winning these competitions.
