Marvel's "Brave New World" set to shatter film budget records
Astronomical amounts of money are involved in the game. Marvel is filming a new Captain America movie and still can't finish it. If the reports about the additional budget allocated for the production with Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford are confirmed, it will be the most expensive piece ever made.

Fans have been waiting for an impressive spectacle from Marvel for several years. The studio's recent productions haven't generated much enthusiasm, but Marvel always has some ideas. After "Avengers: Endgame," another major hit had to be created.
To date, "Endgame" is the most expensive production in history. The budget reached £278 million, and ticket revenue was an astronomical £2.1 billion! The world flocked to theatres to see Chris Evans wrap up his role as Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, and retire to a well-deserved superhero retirement. He chose his successor.
"Captain America: Brave New World" will make history. But how?
It's long been known that Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, took over Captain America's shield. His adventures and those of Bucky (Sebastian Stan) could already be watched in the Disney+ series. A cinematic megahit directed by Julius Onah has been in the works for quite some time.
"Brave New World" was supposed to hit theatres in July 2024. However, that will not happen. Work on the new Marvel production was completed in June last year. The film was shown to a selected group of viewers, and studio heads quickly realised they were in for a disaster. According to "World of Reel," Marvel was panicked. The film had to be revised. Matthew Orton added new scenes. We're talking about three large sequences and even a few new characters added to the script. Experts believe this is a recipe for an epic disaster.
According to media reports, the initial budget for "Captain America: Brave New World" was £215 million. This would put it fifth place among the most expensive films in history. However, as "World of Reel" reports, the reshoots will hit Marvel hard. They say Disney and Marvel will spend between £59 and £78 million on the reshoots. "It's like filming an entirely new movie," quotes a source. Thus, if these reports are confirmed, "Brave New World" will jump to the first place among the most expensive films in our history. In second place is also a Marvel production - "Avengers: Infinity War," which cost £247 million.
"Brave New World" is now scheduled to premiere in February 2025. Will this happen? It will be the 35th film in the Marvel Universe. It is supposed to be a new beginning for superhero stories. The new Captain America must find his footing as a leader. Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, played by Harrison Ford, is by his side. Ross invites the Captain to the White House to thank him for his service to the nation, but he remains sceptical of the actions of superheroes. Anthony Mackie promises outstanding entertainment and entirely new solutions.
