Make your toilet sparkle: Easy DIY cleaner for stubborn limescale
Chemical cleaners from shops are often effective, but they can be costly and are not environmentally friendly. Discover how to make a homemade cleaner for even the most heavily soiled toilet bowls. Your toilet will be spotlessly clean once again.
The toilet bowl is in constant contact with water, which leads to the formation of stubborn limescale deposits that are hard to remove. To restore its cleanliness and shiny appearance, it's worth trying a particular trick. Toilet gels often prove ineffective under the waterline, where limescale accumulates the most. However, this issue can be resolved by using a homemade cleaning solution with ingredients you likely already have at home.

Vinegar and citric acid, known for their ability to dissolve limescale, might need some support when the deposits are in the nooks and crannies of the toilet. In this regard, baking soda works well as it becomes even more effective when combined with an acid.
The recipe for a homemade toilet descaler includes baking soda or baking powder, citric acid, water, and optionally, a fragrance oil.
Fifteen minutes and the problem is gone. Limescale in the bowl disappears
Combine 80 ml of baking powder or baking soda with 120 ml of citric acid, add a few drops of fragrance oil, and finally some water. Let the prepared mixture sit for a moment, then place it in a silicone mould and freeze for at least an hour.
Throw the hardened tablets into the toilet bowl for at least 15 minutes to effectively remove limescale and leave a pleasant scent. For more severe stains, the duration can be extended to 30 minutes. Once the process is complete, simply flush with water. Similar tablets can also be used to remove limescale from dishwashers and washing machines.
