Lizzo, the American music star known for hits like Good as Hell and Truth Hurts, surprised her fans with a revelation about changes in her diet.
Lizzo, who was once a vegan, decided to include meat in her diet, which she claims has helped her improve her well-being and lose weight. In a video posted on Instagram, the artist talked about her new way of eating.
Why did Lizzo change her diet?
The artist starts her day with lemon water, eggs, cauliflower pancakes, and fruit. During the day, she enjoys okra water and a chicken wrap with plenty of mustard. Lizzo also makes homemade peach tea. She concludes her day with grilled chicken, carrots, and asparagus.
Lizzo shared that she started eating meat again while visiting Japan. She was impressed by the cleanliness and quality of the food, enjoying fresh sushi and eggs, and was surprised by how great she felt the following day.
Lizzo expressed that incorporating animal protein into her diet has boosted her energy and contributed to weight loss. She explained that this approach to eating helped her reach her goals and feel comfortable in her body.
Veganism still in the plans?
Although Lizzo now includes animal protein in her diet, she maintains that a vegan lifestyle is the healthiest option and continues to advocate for its benefits.
She declares that she wants to become a "raw alkaline vegan." An alkaline diet, based on plant products, aims to create an alkaline environment in the body, which means maintaining an internal pH level of 8 or higher. Although experts warn that there is no evidence of the health benefits of an alkaline diet, Lizzo is still considering such a change.
The artist wrapped up the video by emphasizing that the most important thing is personal happiness. She expressed that if her fans are happy, she is as well. She urged them to make choices that feel right for them at any stage of life.
