"The animosity incited by Russia is a threat to our global harmony. It's a threat to us all. Because of this, we must persist with our support for Ukraine," said Gitanas Nauseda in a Saturday address to the Lithuanian nation.

"Every piece of weaponry, every consignment of humanitarian aid, every penny we contribute, not only saves lives, but also slowly propels Ukraine towards victory. This victory will be our mutual triumph. A victory for our freedom," stressed Nauseda in a video message shared on social media.

On the second anniversary of the conflict, Nauseda also underscored the importance of fostering a population's resilience and their capacity to combat the malevolent forces that can only be vanquished with significant resolve and hard work. "

An appeal from the Lithuanian Head of Government

"We have had our fair share of lessons from history. Now, it's time to demonstrate the knowledge we have gleaned," urged Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte. "We cannot afford to mind our own business. We cannot stop backing those who are standing their ground to defend their freedom and protect us. The extent to which Russia is pushed back depends on us," she added.

On Saturday, Lithuania marked the second anniversary of Russia's incursion into Ukraine. To commemorate this, concerts, exhibitions, and demonstrations have been scheduled.

In Vilnius in the afternoon, a solidarity march will proceed, culminating in a rally attended by country’s heads and delegates from diplomatic posts. In the evening, a concert will be held at Lukiskes Square in the city centre, followed by the culmination of the "Radars" campaign. A month-long nationwide fundraiser, the aim is to procure so-called secure soldier sets, comprising of a night vision monocular, a laser sight and individual anti-drone provisions.
