Kylian Mbappe became the star of one of the most significant transfers in recent years. The French forward, who has worn the colours of Paris Saint-Germain for the past six seasons, has now joined Real Madrid. He is on holiday but remains dedicated to preparing for the upcoming season.
25-year-old Kylian Mbappe signed the contract, and on Tuesday (16th July), he was presented as a Real Madrid player at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
The French representative signed a contract with the Royal team until 2029 (for five seasons). According to the portal "Capology," Mbappe ranks third among the highest-paid players in the Spanish La Liga for the 2025/26 season - with approximately £28 million gross annually (referring to the base salary).
Spanish journalists emphasise that Mbappe will also receive €110-132 million as a signing bonus (paid in five instalments) during the five-year contract period and retain up to 80% of the revenue from his image rights.
Mbappe had a very poor Euro 2024. It was clear that the star was exhausted from the previous season, both physically and mentally.
The Frenchman was presented on 16th July at Santiago Bernabeu, after which he went on a well-deserved holiday. He has not disclosed his holiday destination, but on social media, we can see that he trains independently for the new season.
When will Mbappe debut for Real?
The Frenchman is not participating in Real Madrid's pre-season tour in the United States. He is expected to debut for the Royals in the UEFA Super Cup match on 14 August. The opponent will be Atalanta Bergamo.
