Kremlin's hidden toll: Russian casualties in Ukraine top 60,000
Internet users are trying to find accurate information about the number of Russians killed in Ukraine. For obvious reasons, the Kremlin is concealing the data. According to Ukrainian sources, at least 62,000 deaths have been confirmed, but these are certainly not the final figures.
Information from the group "Information Resistance" is reported by the X "Technicznybdg" profile. - As of 21 July 2024, our database contains 62,910 individuals for whom there is complete data and over 400 individuals for whom there are discrepancies - says Alexey Kopytko.
An advisor to Ukraine's Defence Minister reminds us that this is the minimum number of fully confirmed casualties. The total number of killed could be at least twice as high. Three days earlier, the Russian source "Mediazona" reported 59,725 confirmed deaths.
A group of Russians revisited one of the cemeteries with "SOW participants" near Irkutsk. From September 2023 to July 2024, the number of graves nearly doubled - from 140 to 278. At the same time, since the last visit, no obituaries have been published for 62 buried individuals (40%) - reads the latest report by Kopytko. This means that Russia is still hiding its losses. And the further from large cities, the more gaps there are - he adds.
Where are the most casualties? One area dominates
Statistics show that the Krasnodar region may have the most casualties - 2,948. Next are Bashkortostan - 2,461, Tatarstan - 2,258, Sverdlovsk region - 2,215, Chelyabinsk region - 1,864, Perm region - 1,809, Samara - 1,606, Moscow region - 1,504, Irkutsk region - 1,463, Buryatia - 1,445.
I would like to emphasise this fact once more. The "lead" of the Krasnodar region is due to the mass burial of Wagner convicts there who were not claimed by their relatives. In the same "media zone," the leader in absolute loss numbers is Bashkiria - adds Kopytko.
"In just three weeks of July, we recorded 3,053 killed Russian soldiers. Considering the old losses, by the end of the month, there will be about 4,000 newly killed - reads the profile "Technicznybdg".
