A titan of hard work. Reserved, sometimes arrogant. Focused on his goals, moulded from a completely different clay than most athletes.
An exceptional perfectionist with an impressive mentality and work ethic who made history - it all lines up: Kobe Bryant.
He won the championship ring five times, the MVP title once, and was recognized as the MVP of the finals twice. He was fourth on the all-time scoring list, had three gold medals with the USA team, and spent 20 seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers.
tragic death of Bryant
On 26 January, 2020, the helicopter in which Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven other people were travelling crashed in Calabasas, California. Everyone on board died. This tragedy shocked the sports world and millions of fans around the globe.
The death of Kobe and Gianna was a shock not only for the family but for the entire world. His wife, Vanessa, published emotional statements expressing her disbelief and pain over the loss of her husband and daughter. The global community showed immense support, and a memorial was erected at the crash site to honour the victims.
Few people know that Kobe's relationship with his parents was not always easy. His parents opposed his marriage to Vanessa, which caused much tension. The Bryants also didn't like that Vanessa was not part of the African-American community.
Posthumously, Kobe was honoured with numerous tributes. A memorial was established in Calabasas to honour him and Gianna, and his impact on basketball is still visible in numerous training sessions, academies, and projects dedicated to youth that continue his mission.
