Some time ago, Netflix confirmed that filming for the third installment of the Knives Out series will start soon. The production will be titled "Wake Up Dead Man," Rian Johnson will once again write and direct it.

Of course, Daniel Craig will reprise his role as Detective Benoit Blanc in the film. As is almost tradition, Johnson has ensured that the rest of the cast is of the highest possible calibre.

"Knives Out 3" - Familiar faces in the cast

So far, the creators have announced that the film will feature Josh O’Connor from the recent production "Challengers," Cailee Spaeny from "Civil War," Andrew Scott from the TV series "Sherlock," Kerry Washington from "Django," the legendary Glenn Close, Marvel star Jeremy Renner, Mila Kunis, and now also joining the cast is Josh Brolin. It must be admitted that the cast is impressive and does not differ much from what we saw in Johnson's previous films.

Plot details and any information about the characters are currently under wraps. However, it’s hard to imagine Johnson abandoning the formula of his previous films in the series. That is, eccentric Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is called to solve an unusual case involving very colourful, intertwined, and ambiguous characters, each of whom would have a motive to murder their relatives. Then, a cat-and-mouse game ensues between the murderer and the detective. Blanc, risking his life, uncovers the truth, the killer is caught, and then everyone lives happily ever after.

As mentioned, Rian Johnson is the screenwriter and director of "Wake Up Dead Man." He also produces alongside his collaborator Ram Bergman from their company, T-Street.

Filming for the new installment of the Knives Out series will begin in London in June 2024.

Undoubtedly interesting is the fact that Johnson has cast Jeremy Renner. Remember, the actor had a severe snowplough accident some time ago and fought for his life for several months. Fortunately, he has recovered, and "Wake Up Dead Man" will be one of his first projects after returning to health.

Incidentally, he is another MCU star appearing in the "Knives Out" series. Looking at previous installments, Renner and Brolin might be suspected of being killers. This was the case in previous parts (in the first, Chris Evans' character was the murderer, and in the second, it was Edward Norton). Other actors associated with the MCU who have appeared in Johnson's films include Dave Bautista (Drax) and Kathryn Hahn (Agatha Harkness).
