The king is counseled to limit public engagements
Further to this, it was conveyed that the king is scheduled for suitable treatment. His doctors have recommended that the monarch, who is 75 years old, refrain from all public duties in the meantime.
"The King extends his gratitude to the medical team for their prompt action, possible due to his recent visit to the hospital", reads the statement.
"He remains optimistic about his ongoing treatment and yearns to resume his royal responsibilities at the earliest opportunity", added the palace.
Furthermore, the palace mentioned that the king elected to share his diagnosis to quell any conjecture concerning his health. He also anticipates that this revelation will reshape the public's perception of those suffering from cancer.
King Charles III belongs to the Windsor dynasty. He is the eldest son of the late Queen Elizabeth II and succeeded to the throne following her passing on 8th September 2022. His coronation took place in May 2023.
