Oat flakes are a food product that cannot be praised enough. Their effect on the body is fantastic, and oatmeal made with them is one of the healthiest breakfasts we can choose. It's also a good idea to add a few wholesome ingredients: fruits, nuts, and kefir, which enhances the healthiness of this delicious breakfast like nothing else. It's also worth mentioning that kefir prevents the only adverse effect associated with oatmeal.

Kefir oatmeal — literal health

Let's focus on what we gain by adding kefir to oatmeal; there's much to gain. A large amount of minerals, easily digestible protein, and vitamins are just the beginning of this pleasant list. Like any other fermented product, Kefir significantly impacts the intestines. This is due to the formation of healthy probiotics in this dairy product. It’s also worth mentioning the high content of vitamin K2, which affects immunity and positively affects the liver and skin condition.

We also mentioned that kefir prevents a certain negative effect of oatmeal. What is it about? Well, oat flakes contain phytic acid, which, through the process of binding minerals, hinders their absorption into the body. This affects the intake of iron, zinc, and calcium. And here’s the thing: adding kefir to oat flakes neutralizes phytic acid. In this way—officially—oat flakes have become 100 percent perfect.

When it comes to preparing breakfasts, we always emphasize that it is essential that they are nutritious, healthy and quick to prepare. Oatmeal is a real record holder in this respect. Interestingly, this dish can be prepared the night before. This is known as overnight oatmeal—oat flakes are soaked in kefir and mixed with various additions (including fruits, nuts, peanut butter, and cocoa), placed in the refrigerator, and enjoyed in the morning.
