Kadyrov's bizarre actions fuel speculation of a Kremlin rift
Ramzan Kadyrov has not experienced a successful past few weeks. This is due to his controversial statements about an alleged assassination attempt, for which he accused two members of the State Duma. Now, a mysterious video has appeared online showing the Chechen leader making very unusual movements.
Russian media have consistently reported on Ramzan Kadyrov's statements in recent weeks. He announced a "bloody revenge" on Dagestani Senator Suleyman Kerimov, as well as State Duma deputies Bechan Barakhoyev and Rizwan Kurbanov. They allegedly criticised the president of the Wildberries portal, whom Kadyrov supports.
The reason for the Chechen leader's sharp reaction was reportedly a shooting that occurred on 18th October near the office of Russia's largest online store, Wildberries. At the same time, Kadyrov allegedly revealed that, alongside planning the attack on the company's headquarters, the terrorists were planning an assassination attempt on him.
The words of the Chechen leader reverberated throughout Russia. This was intensified by the fact that the United Russia deputies, whom Kadyrov threatened, suddenly stopped appearing at the plenary sessions of the State Duma. The Kremlin's spokesperson distanced himself from the entire situation, advising Kadyrov to go to the police if he feels threatened.
The issue is extremely complicated, as it may indicate direct conflicts at the top of the Kremlin's power structure. The deputies, whom Kadyrov directly threatened, are associated with the United Russia party, which is linked to Vladimir Putin. It's no surprise that many experts see further indications of the Chechen leader's growing anger.
This was exemplified during one of the summit meetings. A video has surfaced online, showing Kadyrov behaving in an extremely mysterious and strange manner. The Chechen stands apart from a group of politicians and, for unexplained reasons, begins doing "push-ups" while leaning on chairs.
Netizens have noted that Ramzan Kadyrov's body language may indicate that he is unhappy with his surroundings. At the same time, this could be the aftermath of an alleged conflict with Vladimir Putin. There are also theories suggesting he may have been poisoned.
