Jesse Lingard fined for breaking scooter laws in South Korea

Jesse Lingard lost his driving licence after being caught by the police driving under the influence of alcohol. The former England international subsequently chose an electric scooter as his new means of transport but encountered issues with that too. In South Korea, he received a fine of about £110.

Jesse Lingard is 31 years old and recently became the protagonist of an unexpected transfer to a Korean club in Seoul. This move was surprising since the earlier part of the midfielder's career was associated with teams in England. His career momentum gradually declined, and he decided to sign a lucrative contract in South Korea.

According to British media reports, Jesse Lingard lost his driving licence for a year and a half after being caught by the police in Manchester driving under the influence of alcohol.

Thus, the footballer had to adapt to another means of transport. In South Korea, he chose an electric scooter, but before hitting the streets of Seoul, he did not familiarise himself with the local regulations. A scooter is permitted for those with a driver's licence and a helmet. Jesse Lingard violated both rules.

The police in South Korea did not go easy on the Englishman and fined him £110. The footballer confirmed the incident and accepted the fine humbly.

Anyone visiting South Korea should obviously familiarise themselves with the regulations. Otherwise, they may create a hazard. Wearing a helmet is essential. I will not forget about it a second time, he apologised in a post on the social media platform Instagram.

Jesse Lingard's actions made headlines not only in South Korea but also in England. In his home country, he remains a well-known athlete, and that’s not surprising. The midfielder has played 32 matches for the national team and scored six goals.
